Free for everyone
Our software is free for anyone, anywhere. No paywalls, no trials, no catch.
Benjamin Originals is an independent tech studio and channel. Since 2024 we've been building our own software, making videos about the tech that matters, and bringing a whole community along for the ride.
We started with a simple idea: tech should be fun, free, and made for everyone.
It all began on Scratch. Benjamin Originals was first created as a Scratch account back in 2022. About 2 years later, after making simple games, Benjamin Originals had became a real company, that's when the YouTube channel was created. Then, after abandonment in 2023, BenOS, a full operating system built out of blocks came back. Revived by creating a second version (BenPadOS 2) grew with help from YouTubers and developers who believed in the idea, and from a community that supported the novelty.
Meanwhile, while BenOS grew into something larger, the YouTube channel solidified the brand, with hundreds of videos on programming, gadgets, and the latest in tech. The channel has become a hub for techies to learn and engage with the latest in BenOS, a whole new way to experience technology. Of course, as a company who values community engagement, we also host Q&A sessions where we answer everyone's questions directly.
Today, BenOS runs right in your browser. It arrived there as BenOS HTML, and from version 2.0 it's BenOS Genesis. Benjamin Originals has grown into a much larger company, with shows, streams and newsletters alongside our set of technological innovations. Throughout the journey, our promise hasn't changed: keep you updated with the latest in tech, share the BenOS journey, and have fun doing it.
From a channel to a Scratch OS with ten releases, to a full operating system in your browser.
Benjamin Originals was first created as a Scratch account back in 2022, not yet considered a company. The earliest iteration of BenOS was developed and launched, originally considered a simple Scratch project, a mock OS. It was only a concept at this point, and we had called it "BenPadOS" back then, as it was designed to be a tablet-based operating system.
Benjamin Originals is officially founded, and the channel starts bringing you the latest in tech.
Our Scratch OS gets a new name. BenOS 3 lands on September 14 with BenServer 2.0 and BenNews, and BenOS 4 makes the switch official five days later.
BenOS 5 through 9 add Assistant, BenBrowser, the You app, Dodgeball and the first BenAI beta, then a new interface and a major passcode and security update.
A modern redesign of the whole interface and of Settings, plus Wallpaper Gen, Benslator and a live lock screen wallpaper.
A new boot screen and tutorial, BenHealth, and BenMusic with continuous playback, all running on BenServer 7.
The tenth Scratch release brings BenMusic V6, Assistant V3.2, smoother animations, and notifications you can click to dismiss.
Just a bit after Matrix, BenOS HTML arrives on GitHub: this was the first step into the new era, web-based operating systems.
The family grows with Benjamin Essentials, and the main channel passes 900 subscribers and 700 videos.
BenOS HTML becomes BenOS Genesis. The BenOS HTML name was for version 1.0; version 2.0 starts a new era, so it gets a new name.
New apps, features and fixes come straight from your comments. The roadmap is a conversation.
Our software is free for anyone, anywhere. No paywalls, no trials, no catch.
Light, fast, and only what you need. BenOS is free from bloatware of any kind.
